Arundhati Sett, Architect and Urban Designer, with whom I had closely worked for the “Housing for All” program at Ashoka.
On her return after 10+ years in US, she joined my team as a Project Manager, for the Affordable Housing Rating System. She worked with Ashoka and Partner TUV Rheinland, to roll out the First Version of Rating for the “Housing for All (HFA)”program, funded by Hilti Foundation.
Arundhathi’s knowledge in executing various public sector buildings in California(USA), California Building Code, National Building Code(India), LEED Energy Rating helped in developing a unified team approach for HFA. She interacted with partners, several industry experts, organised panel discussions to get a thorough understanding of user/developer expectations for the rating system and efficiently delivered the first version within 3 months.
Subsequently, Arundhati founded an architecture firm, Ankur Architecture + Design with specific emphasis on affordable housing. Given her prior experience in working with Ashoka Housing for All Program, executing Indian and International Building projects, I would highly recommend her name as an architect for affordable housing projects based on HFA, Ashoka Model.
I met Arundhati during a music event at our White Field School. I had mentioned about a building problem we were facing in one of our schools. Arundati was forthcoming in helping out.
We have kept the interaction going for two years. She advised us for facility upgrades from time to time.
As we were venturing into building new schools, Arundhati and her team presented concept ideas to our sponsors from Spain and France. We had an important fund-raising event happening in Dubai and approached Arundhati, for 1-5 grade primary school concept. She effectively interacted with me and my team to get our requirements and aspirations. With in 3 weeks she beautifully developed the building concept with landscaping and an outdoor auditorium. The scheme worked well and was in sync with our idea of classrooms clustered around exterior learning spaces.
